Pakistan, China call for peace in Middle East after high-level talks in Beijing

Pakistan and China on Tuesday issued a joint call for peace in the Middle East following high-level talks between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing. Wang also conveyed Beijing’s appreciation for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts toward ending the conflict and its support for peace initiatives in West Asia. Read: Pakistan, China unveil 5-point Gulf peace plan   The ministers reviewed the “growing momentum” in Pakistan-China relations, stressing enhanced strategic cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC 2.0), increased high-level exchanges, and ongoing commemorations marking the 75th anniversary of bilateral ties. Dar expressed gratitude to his Chinese counterpart for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to his delegation. The two sides also exchanged views on Afghanistan, underscoring the importance of peace, stability, and coordinated counterterrorism efforts. Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining regular contact to sustain diplomatic momentum.
